The St.George Queensland Reds are pleased to officially unveil their new-look coaching staff for the 2019 Super Rugby season.

The Queensland Rugby Union (QRU) has focused on assembling the best coaches with experience around Head Coach Brad Thorn to ensure the development of elite Rugby talent coming through the Queensland Pathway.

As Thorn embarks on his second season as Reds Head Coach, he will be joined by two new Assistant Coaches in 2019.

After playing a major role in the Reds highly-acclaimed attacking structure of play in the 2011 title-winning season, Jim McKay is back at Ballymore as the Reds new Attack Coach.

He’ll be joined by one of the toughest and best defensive minds in Rugby, dual-code premiership-winning player Peter Ryan, who has been appointed as Reds Assistant Coach, specialising in defence.

The pair bring a wealth of experience to the Reds Professional Rugby Department and will work alongside Thorn to build the culture of quality Rugby talent at Ballymore.

Complementing them is former Reds and Wallabies World Cup winning-player Cameron Lillicrap, who takes on a dual role as Reds physiotherapist/scrum coach.

Brynley Abad, who was also a part of the Reds high-performance team when they won the title in 2011, has returned to Ballymore as the Reds Strength and Conditioning Head Coach.

Queensland’s 2019 coaching structure has been further enhanced by the appointments of specialist pairing Tony McGahan and Paul Carozza to the Reds Academy.

McGahan will become the Reds Academy Head Coach in a newly created role, while Carozza will remain at Ballymore as the new Reds Academy - Head of Talent Management.

Their appointments ensure the future of Queensland elite Rugby players is in excellent hands and further strengthens the QRU’s strategy to bring the best coaches to Ballymore, as well as to identify and develop emerging talent through the Queensland Pathway.

Membership packages for the 2019 Super Rugby season are available now.

2018 St.George Queensland Reds Members still have the opportunity to renew your memberships and retain your same seating until Friday 26 October.
