Australia U18 will look to build on their big win over Australian Schoolboys when they face New Zealand Schools for the first of a two-match series at Viking Park on Monday.

Head coach Dale Robertson has named his side that will face New Zealand Schools, with the Australian Schoolboys side facing Fiji Schoolboys earlier in the day.

The match will follow in the footsteps of their corresponding fixture last year in Hamilton, which saw Australia U18 record a historic 38-31 win, their first victory over their Trans-Tasman rivals since 2019.

Kingsley Uys, William Ross and Heinz Lemoto, all of whom were named in that historic fixture will return this year, with scrumhalf Angus Grover set to be handed the captain’s armband.

Completing the big changes, Nicholas Conway will start at fullback, having scored three tries in two games for Australia U20 at the recent World Rugby U20 Championships in Italy.
