Jeff Miller was welcomed to an exclusive club today at the Queensland Rugby Union's annual Life Members' Lunch.

The former Queensland captain and coach has served as Chief Executive, President and Chairman over decades of service to the game.

There were plenty of familiar faces in the Ballymore boardroom to greet the QRU's newest Life member.

Life Member John Ryan, the former Queensland team manager, was on the panel which first selected the red-haired flanker in 1982.

Life Member Paul McLean was part of Miller's initial teams at flyhalf before retiring at the end of 1982.

Among the other Life Members present were Jim Lucey, now in his 80s and a stalwart of Queensland teams in the 1960s.

QRU Chairman Brett Clark welcomed the group who have contributed so much over so long to the health of rugby in Queensland.
