Classics to Converge in Toowoomba for Rumble in the Region

On Saturday 1st March Classic Wallabies will play an exhibition fixture in Toowoomba for the first time since 2018. Downs Rugby has invited Classic Wallabies to take on Downs Rugby's Team of the Decade as voted on in their 60th anniversary celebrations in late 2024. It is the feature match in a packed schedule of family-friendly fun starting from 10am at Toowoomba Sports Ground, which includes:

  • Gold Blooded Tour KIDS CLINICS with the Classics
  • Wests/Brothers V Goondiwindi Rugby Union Club
  • City V Downs Women's XVs (incl. Classic Wallaroos)
  • Brisbane Premier Rugby GF re-match between Brisbane Brothers & Wests Bulldogs
  • Classic Wallabies V Downs Men's Team of the Decade
  • Queensland Reds V Western Force WATCH PARTY

All funds raised from the Classic Wallabies visit will go directly toward funding a much needed, locally based Development Officer, along with Downs Rugby's 2025 Rep Tour to Townsville. Darling Downs Rugby Union encompasses clubs from Gatton to Goondiwindi, Condamine, Roma and more.
