The Queensland Reds have bounced back in Round 4 of Buildcorp Super W with a gutsy 15-10 victory over the Brumbies in Canberra.

Wests prop and player of the match Liz Patu was huge for Queensland, scoring a double with a crucial try coming in the 73rd minute.

The Reds had a strong second half sparked by excellent running at flyhalf from Sunnybank’s Renae Nona and defensive efforts from captain Shannon Parry.

Ivania Wong and Malaela Su’a, as well as Hana Lane off the bench, were crucial in the win away from home.

The Brumbies were first to score after a gruelling first 20 minutes of Rugby.

Flanker and Captain Rebecca Smyth making it 7-nil, scoring off the back of a rolling maul.

Wests Prop Liz Patu hit back for Queensland with an unstoppable run close to the line which saw her barge over Lillyann Mason-Spice to make it 7-5 in the 36th minute.

The reds were first to strike in the second-forty through a strong pick-and-drive by prop Madi Schuck, levelling the scores 10-all in the 52nd minute.

Patu gave the visitors their first lead of the game in the 73rd minute with a rampaging run close to the Brumbies line awarding Queensland a 15-10 win.

Queensland have a bye in Round 4 before returning home to host the Melbourne Rebels at Suncorp Stadium on Saturday 2 April.
