Biography

2018 was a huge year for Samantha Treherne and she will be hoping that 2019 is similar. After playing Sevens and XVs for Victoria, Treherne headed north to play for Sunnybank in 2017 and quickly proved her talent, earning Wallaroos selection the same year and travelling to Ireland for the Women’s World Cup. After strong showings with Griffith University in the Aon University 7s competition, Treherne was selected for the Australian Sevens side, playing tournaments in Colorado and Dubai in 2018. Her performances earnt her a full contract with the side, a just reward for her talent. Treherne scored five tries for Queensland in last year’s Buildcorp Super W competition, and her skill at the back will be key if Queensland are to have a successful 2019 season.
