Brandon Paenga-Amosa will embark on his third season with the St.George Queensland Reds in 2020.
He was one of only four players to have played every match for the Reds during the 2019 Super Rugby season and proved hookers are just as handy as the backs when it comes to finding the try line. The powerful hooker finished as Queensland’s equal-second highest try-scorer, crossing for five tries last year.
Paenga-Amosa made his Reds debut in Round 2 last year, before going on to make his Australian debut and playing four Tests for the Wallabies in 2018.
Following impressive performances for Southern Districts in the Shute Shield and two NSW-based National Rugby Championship (NRC) sides, Paenga-Amosa has played xxx games with Brisbane City during the 2018 and 2019 NRC seasons.
He racked up six tries in seven appearances for the Western Sydney Rams in 2016, before shifting to the NSW Country Eagles for the 2017 season, scoring five tries in seven games – including a hat-trick against Brisbane City in the last round.
One of four players to play every match for the Reds during the 2019 Super Rugby season. Finished as Queensland’s second equal-highest try-scorer with five tries, alongside Samu Kerevi and Chris Feauai-Sautia.
Made his Super Rugby debut as the Reds’ starting hooker in Round 2 against the Rebels in Melbourne. Capped a remarkable rise, making his Test debut for Australia against Ireland and went on to start all three Tests in the June series, before coming off the bench in the second half against South Africa in The Rugby Championship. Made his debut for Brisbane City in Round 1 against the Western Force and went on to play four matches and score a try in their final match of the season against the Canberra Vikings at Easts.
