Volunteer Community Rugby Content Producer

Queensland Rugby Union (QRU) is searching for a number of journalism/communications students to assist the organisation with generating content from Rugby competitions and events around Queensland.  

Applications, as mentioned, would ideally be studying either journalism or communications and in their second or third year of study, and should have strong writing skills.   Applicants will gain experience in the areas of sports journalism, social media management, CMS website training and stakeholder management, with the aim to also provide some training in videography and photography, as well as the Adobe software suite.   We are ideally searching for people to cover five key areas of the game:  

• Women’s Rugby  
• School’s Rugby  
• Regional Rugby – North Queensland  
• Regional Rugby – Central Queensland 
• Regional Rugby – South Queensland  

Applications for the regional Rugby positions don’t necessarily have to be based in those regional locations, however we welcome applications from students based outside of Brisbane who would like to cover Rugby in their own region.    To apply for the position, please email your CV and a cover letter to communications@redsrugby.com.au.
