The Queensland Rugby Union (QRU) has today announced a new partnership with Brisbane-based car dealership Westpoint Autos for the next two years.

It will see the family-owned business become the official sponsor of the QRU’s auto category with their branding placed on the back of both the playing and training shorts for the St.George Queensland Reds Super Rugby and Super W teams.

Westpoint Autos will also provide vehicles to the QRU to allow staff to deliver Rugby programs across Queensland.

QRU Head of Commercial Malcolm Watts said: “It’s fantastic to have Westpoint Autos on board as a partner of Queensland Rugby and the Reds.

“They are an iconic family business and their investment will give our staff the tools to get out-and-about across Queensland to grow the game.

“It’s also great to see them supporting our Queensland Reds men’s and women’s teams, with their logo featuring on the Super Rugby and Super W shorts when they are training and playing.

“QRU is now able to align our Rugby community with an experienced dealership who represents a large range of notable automotive brands,” said Watts.

Westpoint Autos Luke Hawkins, Dealer Principal said: “We are excited and proud about the future of our partnership with QRU.

“Our dealership has always been involved in local sponsorships including junior sports clubs, and we pride ourselves on this community involvement.

“It is a natural progression to develop on this and with Rugby Union as our dominant local football code we felt this would be an excellent opportunity.

“We look forward to working with all aspects of the Queensland Reds team, through to grass roots and of course Reds fans to grow this wonderful sport and support the club. To see our vehicles with both logos displayed, driving around Brisbane will be wonderful,” said Hawkins.

Westpoint Autos is a proud family-owned business that prides itself on excellent service standards, as well as a personalised customer service experience across its many dealerships in Brisbane.

The multi-franchise dealer boasts the most impressive range of new and used cars and demo vehicles from some of Australia’s leading car brands including Nissan, Hyundai, Volkswagen, Honda, Suzuki, Jeep, Chrysler, Isuzu and Fiat.

Westpoint Autos also has an expert in-house car finance and insurance department, plus a dedicated service centre at each of their dealerships to ensure every car they sell can be examined and repaired by factory-trained technicians using genuine parts.
