The St.George Queensland Reds have made just the one change to their starting XV for Friday’s Harvey Norman Super Rugby AU clash against the Melbourne Rebels at Suncorp Stadium.

Taniela Tupou will start at tighthead prop seeing Feao Fotuaika as a finisher this week in one-of-four changes to the Reds’ reserves.

Josh Nasser replaces Richie Asiata as replacement hooker, while University of Queensland enforcer Sam Wallis could potentially make his Super Rugby and Queensland debut after being named in the number-20 jersey.

After being suspended for one-game by the QRU for disciplinary reasons last week, former rugby league star Suliasi Vunivalu could also make his Super Rugby debut off the bench on Friday night.

Reds head coach Brad Thorn said: “It’s great to have another home game in front of our Queensland fans at the start of the season.

“You saw some good things last week, but there’s room for improvement and areas we need to work on.

“The Rebels had the bye in Round 1 and will be looking to open their account, so we’re expecting a tough contest from them.

“Three guys made their debuts last week and we could have another two on Friday which is great for the growth and depth of Queensland Rugby,” said Thorn.

The Reds will be looking to bag back-to-back wins and remain undefeated this season with a third-straight victory over Melbourne at Suncorp Stadium.

Queensland play the Rebels on Friday night at 6:45pm AEST and will be broadcast live and ad-free on Stan Sport.
