Bank of Queensland has hatched a season-long initiative that will reward tries with meaningful support for Queenslanders doing it tough.

BOQ’s “Every Try For Orange Sky” initiative unites the bank's partnerships with the Queensland Reds and charity Orange Sky.

BOQ will donate $300 to Orange Sky for every try scored by the Reds at home games throughout the men’s 2026 Swyftx Super Rugby Pacific season.

BOQ supports Orange Sky and the organisation’s free laundry, shower and conversation services that help restore dignity and connection for people experiencing homelessness.

BOQ Group Senior Community Investment Manager Laura Churchill visited Ballymore Stadium for the launch of the initiative.

“The Reds inspire us through performance and Orange Sky inspires us through connection,” she said.

“A try can change the game. A conversation can change a life. Together, they help us champion the Queensland spirit of backing each other.”

The initiative also reflects the strong alignment between BOQ and the Queensland Reds, with both organisations sharing deep Queensland roots and a commitment to supporting local communities across the state.

Queensland Reds squad member Will McCulloch, joining Ben Volavola and Jock Campbell at the launch, said seeing Orange Sky's orange laundry van at Ballymore showed how practical the assistance can be.

"The ‘Every Try for Orange Sky’ initiative is fantastic. It’s a way to make a positive difference for Queenslanders doing it tough," McCulloch said.

"Back in Year 12 at Padua College, I was part of a group of mates who volunteered on a van, offering food and support to people experiencing homelessness. That experience showed me how much even small acts of kindness can mean.

“Every Reds try at home is going to help Orange Sky make life a bit easier for others in the community which is cool.”

Orange Sky Chief Executive Officer Lucas Patchett said:  "We're incredibly grateful for BOQ's ongoing support. With their help, and the dedication of the Reds, we can continue to provide our essential services of clean laundry, safe showers and positive connection for people experiencing homelessness and hardship across Australia and New Zealand."

“This partnership will allow us to reach more people and families who need a helping hand, or even just a friendly face to chat to.”

BOQ’s “Every Try for Orange Sky” initiative will kick off tonight in the Reds vs Highlanders home game.

BOQ will double all donations to $600 a try during Charity Round on 4 April when the Western Force visit Brisbane.
