The Queensland Rugby Union (QRU) and Rugby Australia (RA) are excited to announce Jock Campbell has re-signed with the Queensland Reds for a further two years.

The new deal will see the electrifying outside-back into his fifth season at Ballymore and remain in Australian Rugby through 2024.

A genuine Queensland pathway product, the 26-year-old has risen through the club Rugby ranks to the professional arena and was selected in his first Wallabies training camp earlier this year.

In his maiden Super Rugby season in 2019, Campbell was crowned the Reds 'Rookie of the Year' and has since gone on to play 44 games and score 77 points (10 tries, nine conversions and three penalties) for Queensland.

Campbell said: “I’m honoured to have re-signed with Queensland and Australian Rugby.

“The Reds gave me a shot back in 2019 and I’m really proud to be a product of the Queensland pathway.

“I feel I’ve still got plenty of improvement left in my game and I think that Ballymore is the best place for me to make those improvements.

“Being a part of the Wallabies squad this year has only motivated me to reach the next level and I’m doing everything I can to wear the gold jersey in the future.”

Reds General Manager – Professional Rugby Sam Cordingley said "Jock's story has been a great lesson in perseverance.

"He came through the Queensland club system to get his opportunity with the Reds. He is now approaching 50 games for Queensland and his form has been rewarded with a national contract.

"Jock is a really popular member of the team and we are all looking forward to seeing him reach higher honours in the next few years."

A product of The Southport School, Campbell excelled in Queensland Premier Rugby for several years and played a key part in three straight Grand Final appearances for the University of Queensland - including two Hospital Challenge Cup premierships in 2017 and 2019.

Campbell was also an integral member the Queensland Country side in the National Rugby Championship for three seasons and won the NRC title in 2017.

Following his standout form in both the NRC and Queensland Premier Rugby, he was awarded a Reds contract during the 2018/19 pre-season and was handed his Super Rugby debut against the Bulls in Pretoria in 2020.
