The Queensland Rugby Union (QRU) has today announced La Banderita as the official tortilla of the QRU and the Queensland Reds.

Established in 1988 in Atlanta by Mrs Veronica Moreno, OLÉ Mexican Foods is a family-owned and operated business that is now the largest privately-owned tortilla manufacturer in the United States.

La Banderita has grown to become Australia’s favourite premium tortilla with their products sold nationally through leading retailers.

The three-year partnership will see La Banderita provide the Reds with their deliciously authentic flour tortillas, helping to power the Reds scrum and backline to another winning season in 2022 and beyond.

QRU General Manager – Commercial Operations Malcolm Watts said: “We’re excited to partner with La Banderita for the next three seasons.

“Their family values and commitment to quality align with our own and we are looking forward to growing our partnership with them in the coming years.”

La Banderita Managing Director Stu Richardson said: “The Reds over the past few seasons have built a fantastic culture under Brad Thorn, and we are delighted to come on board as a Reds partner and the official tortilla of the QRU.

"The proud history of the QLD Reds, and passion to be the best, are the things that are likened to our brand, and also appeal to our customers.”
