The Queensland Rugby Union is proud to announce McDonald's as their newest partner for 2023.
One of the world’s most recognisable brands, McDonald’s signature ‘Golden Arches’ logo will feature on the Queensland Reds Super Rugby Pacific and Super W sleeves for the 2023 season.
This partnership sees Reds start the season with a full suite of commercial partners on their playing apparel, with the Club bringing in a record amount of commercial revenue in 2023.
QRU CEO David Hanham said: “We’re delighted to welcome McDonald's as a partner this year. As such a well-known and well-respected global brand, it is a privilege for our players to represent them in the Buildcorp Super W and Harvey Norman Super Rugby Pacific competitions, with their iconic branding on our playing jerseys.
“McDonalds’ commitment to community sport matches our own and having worked with Ronald McDonald House Charities as an Official Charity Partner of the QRU in recent years, we’re also excited to increase our involvement in that space. Finally, we’re pleased to ensure our members and fans will enjoy some great benefits from this partnership directly, rewarding their commitment to Rugby and the Reds.
” McDonald's Marketing Manager, Queensland & Northern Territory, Jessica Altman said: "We know that Maccas is already part of Rugby ritual, whether it’s stopping in on the way home from a game at Suncorp or the early morning McCafe run before taking the kids to their weekend games. It’s great to be officially taking it to the next level and offering fans more through the partnership such as initiatives like a Free Big Mac when the Reds win at home and a free coffee to members after away games.
"At Macca’s we align ourselves to partnerships that allow us to have a positive and active impact on the local community, so we are excited to be partnering with QRU for 2023 and doing our part to support Rugby at all levels. We are also grateful for the Reds continued support of Ronald McDonald House Charities, which help support seriously ill or injured children and their families."
The partnership will see numerous sub-unions across the state provided with player of the day prizes, as well as activations in-stadium and online for members and fans to take advantage of giveaways and special offers.
McDonald's join Westpac, Santos, Alliance Airlines and TFH on the Queensland Reds playing jersey, designed by Canterbury, in 2023, with Crossbet, Westpoint Automotive Group and Rivernet on the playing shorts, while the likes of Rio Tinto, QUT and Buildcorp are among the other partners adding significant investment within our community and pathways programs.
