The Queensland Reds have made it back-to-back wins, defeating the Western Force 31-17 at Suncorp Stadium.
With the competition celebrating its inaugural Culture Round, Fraser McReight scored a first-half double to propel Queensland to their fourth win of the season.
Gold Coast product George Blake made his Reds and Super Rugby Pacific debut, the interchange prop scoring a try in his first appearance in the maroon jersey.
Queensland were under pressure early, Force winger Zach Kibirige crossing out wide to give the visiting side a 5-nil advantage by the eighth-minute.
The Reds hit back in the 17th minute when Fraser McReight burrowed his way through the defence from close range. Lawson Creighton converted to give Queensland their first lead of the night at 7-5.
McReight had his second soon after, the backrower steaming onto a Harry Wilson short ball to go under over the posts after a jinking Tate McDermott run. Creighton made no mistake to put the score out to 14-5.
McReight looked to have finished his hat-trick early in the first half before the try was overruled by the TMO, one of four no-try decisions which went against the Reds.
A rolling maul gave Queensland their third, Matt Faessler the beneficiary to score his fourth try in the last three rounds. Creighton made it three from three to open up a 21-5 lead in the 33rd minute.
Queensland maintained a 16-point lead at the break, before a Michael Wells try cut the Force’s deficit to 21-10 in the 54th minute.
Blake made it a night to remember in the 65th minute, the Gold Coast product proving too much to stop from close to the line to score his first Super Rugby try in his debut game. Tom Lynagh converted to give the Reds a 28-10 lead.
Kibirige had his second with an intercept in the 73rd minute, Ian Prior converting.
Lynagh put the score beyond doubt with a penalty goal in the final minutes, the Reds claiming a 31-17 victory.
