The Queensland Reds have confirmed their side to take on the ACT Brumbies in the Buildcorp Super W semi-final this Sunday in Sydney.
Head coach Simon Craig has made just one change to his side after last week’s victory over the Fijiana Drua, with Wallaroo Tiarna Molloy named to start, seeing Cristo Tofa shift to tighthead prop.
A win will see the side progress to the Grand Final in Townsville next Saturday 6 May.
Craig said: “It’s great to have consistency in selection once again. We’ve been able to really gel as a team on and off the field this season and it’s starting to show on the field.
“Finals Rugby is a whole new season. We know it’s do or die this weekend and we’ll need to be at our best for the full 80-minutes.
“The Brumbies pushed us all the way during the regular season, we’re expecting a tough contest on Sunday afternoon.”
Molloy and Tofa will start alongside Bree-Anna Cheatham in the frontrow, with locks Deni Ross and Annabella Codey making for a settled tight-five.
Skipper Shannon Parry, Carola Kreis and Haidee Head start in the backrow once again, all three crossing for tries in Queensland’s 45-22 win over the Drua last round.
Diane Hiini and Carys Dallinger combine in the halves, while Alana Elisaia and Cecilia Smith, the competition’s leading points-scorer, will run-on in the centres.
After a dazzling debut against the Drua, former Fijian sprinter Heleina Young retains her spot on the wing alongside Queensland’s leading try scorer Ivania Wong and fullback Renae Nona.
Craig has made one change to his bench, with Bond University hooker Tazmin Sheppard coming into the side as a finisher.
Queensland will face either the New South Wales Waratahs or FIjiana if they are to progress to the Grand Final, with both semi-finals played at Concord Oval on Sunday afternoon.
