Queensland Reds back-rower Harry Wilson is hoping their recent run of form can power their late-season surge as their title hopes face a massive challenge against the Chiefs.

The Reds will have to negate the quick turnaround after defeating the Brumbies 30-21 to retain the Rod Macqueen Cup, facing a Chiefs team fresh off the bye.

The victory ensured a clean sweep over their ACT rivals and made it three wins from their last four, with the only blemish coming against the Blues in Super Point.

Queensland has been a tricking hunting ground for last year's finalists, with the Reds defeating them in two of their last three matches in the Sunshine State.

Wilson was confident they could draw on their previous success at Suncorp Stadium as they looked to make a run at the top three for an all-important home final.

"It's really exciting. They're one of the best teams in the comp that have been over the past four or five years so it's a game we really relish and we can't wait to get into it," Wilson told the media on the Chiefs.

"...We've obviously had a little bit of success against the Chiefs, and we know how to beat them, but we also know if we don't turn up, how much they can make us pay.

"We love playing in Suncorp and in front of our home fans. To get them here in what's a really big match for us, where we've been sitting on the ladder, a win here will really definitely help us go into the last three games."

The Wallabies skipper has been one of the Reds' best over the past fortnight, rising to the matches against the Kiwi teams as the team looks to send out Les Kiss on a high.

"I guess in the back of your head you know you've probably played some better performances against them, but they also play a style of footy which I think we all really enjoy playing," Wilson believes.

"We're probably always the underdogs, too, and you enjoy trying to prove everyone wrong. As a team, we've matched up pretty well against the Kiwi teams over the last couple of years, obviously barring Hurricanes, but we've been right in the end of every game we've played

"To get them here at Suncorp is a massive advantage to us and we can't wait for it."
