Queensland Reds head coach Brad Thorn has confirmed his 30-man squad for tomorrow night's closed pre-season trial against the Western Force at Ballymore.

The squad features a mix of experience and youth, with eight uncapped Super Rugby players set to feature in Queensland’s first hit-out of 2022.

Reds head coach Brad Thorn said: "We're back playing footy this weekend for the first time in eight months.

"After a solid pre-season there's a handful of guys who have put their hand up for selection tomorrow night. They’ve been working hard at training and deserve the opportunity.

"It's also important to recognise the Force. It's a big ask on the players and staff to be away from their families and we thank them for flying over and making this trial game possible," said Thorn.

Bond University duo Spencer Jeans (scrumhalf) and George Blake (frontrow) get their first chance to showcase their talents, as do youngsters Floyd Aubrey, Taj Annan and Tom Lynagh.

Liam Wright will captain the side, with the likes of Lukhan Salakaia-Loto, Fraser McReight, Hunter Paisami and James O’Connor providing plenty of strike and experience for the home side.

Queensland will take on the Western Force this Saturday 5 February at 5:00pm, with the match to be streamed live and free via reds.rugby.

The Reds face the New South Wales Waratahs in Roma for the annual Santos Festival of Rugby next Saturday 12 February. Secure your ticket via: https://tinyurl.com/SFoRTickets.
