Reds props Jeffery Toomaga-Allen and Matt Gibbon this week lent their support to the RBWH Foundation for its “40 Years Strong” anniversary launch.
For 40 years, the RBWH Foundation has been driving life-saving research, world-class patient care, and healthcare innovation.
The Reds pair joined as ambassadors for the day to acknowledge the hardworking hospital staff.
Toomaga-Allen and Gibbon handed out boxes of donuts, a dozen at a time, to the staff at Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital (RBWH) and Surgical Treatment and Rehabilitation Service (STARS).
Toomaga-Allen knows from personal experience of the impact the staff have on more than 600,000 Queenslanders every year.
One of his own sons was born in the RBWH.
He enjoyed the giving-back tone to the morning when he would normally be training, rehabbing or getting a massage.
“I’m massaging the heart and mind today,” Toomaga-Allen said with perfect timing to one of the grateful nurses.
Toomaga-Allen has his own body art so it was an easy sidestep into helping out with applying some #DonateStrong temporary tattoos for guests.
Note: No donuts were damaged in this production by Reds staff.
