Rising talent Rhani Hagan has been added to the Australia Women’s Sevens squad for the 2025/2026 HSBC SVNS world series.

Hagan joined her teammates on a full-time contract in January after impressive performances in the Next Gen 7s series and Australia A fixtures in Dubai last year.

The 19-year-old from Ipswich has starred in touch football with regional, state and national selection while she is also a 100m and 200m track representative.

A proud Quandamooka and Kullilli woman, Hagan started playing rugby three years ago and has rapidly risen through the ranks.

She was part of the Australian team that won gold at the 2023 Commonwealth Youth Games in Trinidad and Tobago, scoring two tries, including one in the final against Canada.

Australia Women’s Sevens coach Tim Walsh said: “Rhani has been on our radar and knocking on the door for a couple years now.

“Her relocation and centralised training here in Sydney will accelerate her development and prepare her for a professional career in rugby.

“With silky skills, athletic pedigree and determination to win, these attributes make her an ideal fit for the program.”

Hagan will be available for selection ahead of the third round of the HSBC SVNS in Singapore kicking off on January 31.
