Academy

Elite Queensland players aged 16-18

Reds Academy staff select the squad based on performances in ERC, JRC, School and Club rugby competitions.

Players may be included in the squad at any stage of the season based on performance.

Program goals:

1. Prepare players for the progression into the Reds Senior Academy

2. Support and add value to your School and Club program

3. Assist in player preparation for the Reds and Australian Schools/U18 Matches

Rugby

• Coached by Reds Academy Head Coach
• Core Skill Sessions
• Position Specific Sessions
• Academy Match Preparation
• Game Reviews/Feedback
• Interaction with Reds Senior Squad (when appropriate)

Athletic Preparation

• Led by Reds Academy Head of Athletic Performance
• Focus on gym and speed technique
• Injury prevention
• Nutrition education

Player Welfare

• A variety of guest speakers will present on relevant off field / life skill topic
