The Queensland Rugby Union (QRU) and Queensland Reds have today announced Brisbane-based bookmaker Crossbet as their official betting and wagering partner.

Despite an economically challenging sports sponsorship market due to COVID-19, the QRU continues to attract long-term major partners with Crossbet inking a three-year deal through 2024.

Founded and based in Brisbane, Crossbet is a fully licensed bookmaker platform that prides itself on customer service and professionalism to deliver a world-class experience across sport and racing.

As part of the partnership, the Crossbet logo will be placed on the rear of both the Reds Super Rugby and Super W playing shorts from next year’s season.

Crossbet CEO Scott Cross said: “We are honoured to partner with the QRU and current champions the Queensland Reds. It's not very often a truly unique opportunity arises like this to join a prestigious and distinguished organisation.

"From the moment we launched in January this year, we always wanted to be involved in the great game of Rugby. Being based in Brisbane many of our staff, family and friends spent their youth sitting on the hill at Ballymore which made it an easy decision to partner with the QRU.

"For Crossbet its always about 'Family First' and giving back to the local community - from the grassroots upwards to the professional game, and we look forward to being a part of the QRU and Queensland Reds family," said Cross.

QRU CEO David Hanham said: “It’s great to partner with a Queensland company like Crossbet who are supportive of Queensland Rugby and the Reds.

“The passion that both Scott and Crossbet have for the development of Rugby in Queensland resonated with us. Both organisations have big goals for the future and we’re looking forward to building a strong partnership over the coming years,” said Hanham.

Today’s sponsorship announcement with Crossbet follows the Reds recently going to market for a new naming rights and front of jersey sponsor.

The successful corporate candidate will be only the fourth principal naming rights partner for the Reds in more than 30 years and will join an already strong family of sponsors including St.George, Santos, Rio Tinto, Dynasty Sport, TFH and Alliance Airlines.
